Get involved

We need your help.

We are only three little bloggers in a very big world. We all have our contacts, but alone we have little or no power. We need you guys, all the people who have said the idea is brilliant, to support us all the way.

Firstly, we will need people to help write for us.

To submit outfits, and opinions, and information on your life or career or aspirations. Whatever you have to say, we want to hear it. If you want to get involved, we would love to hear from you – comment below!

If you don’t fancy contributing then you could help by spreading the word.

Please talk about Basse Mode on Twitter, post about us on Facebook. If you could write a blog post and say what you think about the topic that would be amazing! If you have any good contacts in fashion or publishing, it would be wonderful if you could put us in touch. However you share your information, why not share our campaign? If you are a fashion focused brand, retailer or magazine (or indeed a publishing house) who likes our ideas, please get in contact here.

You could always contribute your creativity.

We need artists, graphic designers and budding photographers, to help us make the magazine look as good as possible. If typography is your flair or Photoshop is your passion then let us know and get involved!

Finally, show your support.

The easiest thing to do is sign our “petition” by commenting below. This will allow us to build a list of names and prove just how much people like the idea of a magazine for and about real women, warts and all. Please let us know any feedback and encouragement here!

We also have a brand new button for you to put in the sidebar of your blog or website. The code for this can be found below, and it will allow people to be linked through to the site!

  1. Great idea. I wish you all the success in the world!

I’d certainly be more happy to help out with anything relating to vintage, dressing on a budget, thrifting etc.

  2. Wow! I’ve been wanting to work in women’s magazines since I was a little girl. One journalism degree down and plenty of experience behind me and I was beginning to be a little disillusioned by the world of female publications. Until I saw this site. I’d absolutely love to help out anyway that I can – I’m a jack of all trades when it comes to writing having wrote for everything from sex magazines to spa reviews.
Drop me a line if you need any more info,

  19. hi there! This sounds like a great idea. I would love to chip in my expertise: magazine layout. I worked for Modern Luxury for 2 years & currently work at The Onion. I am also a relatively active wardrobe_remixer on flickr (though I’ve been taking a little break lately) and could totally contribute photos & articles as well. Email me and let’s rock!

  20. It would be such a pleasure to contribute! I am a writer, have worked in retail for years- and love clothes and putting outfits together all creative like.

  21. Hi, it’s Rachel from British Style Bloggers. I heard about this from Lauren who has just wrote a guest post for us. Can I just say what an amazing thing it is that you guys are doing. I would love to contribute in any way I can or write a guest post for you guys.

  22. Hey – I just said in another place how excited I am about the whole idea; I could either write or do some illustrations/graphics, I have studied design and done the blog design on my site myself, there is also a page showing some of my artwork if you want to have a look. As I work in account/project management I’m also quite good in admin stuff so if you need any help with that, fine by me 🙂

  23. oops, also – the code for the sticker doesn’t work for me…:(

  28. Hi there! Great idea you ladies have here. I would love to get involved with writing articles, interviewing people, submitting outfit photographs, and I have a LOT of DIY fashion projects that I’ve photographed step-by-step. I’m also a website and graphics designer. 🙂

Writing and design samples available. Just email me. Either way, best of luck with this endeavor. I believe the fashion world desperately needs a magazine like this!

    All my best,

  29. I’ve tried adding your logo button to my WordPress blog but your photobucket image has been deleted. Can you let me know if you’ve got other html coding because I’d love to add you to my vintage fashion blog, Catwalk Threads, at

This is the html coding you’ve noted above but it isn’t working:

I’d love to get involved in your magazine. I run Catwalk Creative Vintage (Manchester based) and sell from my website and Etsy. I also have a couple of regular selling venues in Manchester. Find details of my selling venues from the ‘Events’ and ‘About’ pages at

I’m also a member of the Vintage Fashion Guild (VFG).

Please let me know the correct html coding for your logo so I can add you to my sites. 🙂

  32. Hi, What a good idea!

I’d love to help contribute, I’m a qualified make-artist, currently work in advertising, studying my BA honours at London College of Fashion (evenings and weekends) in marketing and have done lots of freelance editorial so hopefully some of those skills will be of use!
